Freelance VFX Artist For Hire

I'm Andrew Baker, a San Francisco based VFX Compositor and Lighter. I graduated with my MA in VFX & Animation from the Academy of Art University. In 2018 I also completed an internship program with FuseFX as a 2D Compositor and worked with top talent in the industry. Since then, I have expanded my skill range with a wide variety of VFX contracts and freelance opportunities.

 

Prior to my career in visual effects, I received my BS in Mass Communications & Computer Art from the State University of New York at Oneonta, after which I worked for 3 years as a Broadcast Technician in a 24/7 live news environment for FiOS1 News in Rye Brook, NY. I am confident that my background in production and broadcast only add to my foundation of skills that are necessary in post production.

My greatest interests are in art and technology. I enjoy story-telling through these passions, and have a talent for visually laying out concepts and ideas. Learning is important to me, and I excel at quickly picking up new skills, which has led me to my career in VFX.

 

As a successful Compositor, I am very experienced maintaining technical and aesthetic integrity, while promoting the greatest creativity possible. My key strengths include both adaptability in new pipelines and communicating with production while being sensitive to the needs of the Supervisor and Producers.
